The ComEd Whole Home Electrification program is a $40 million initiative aimed at helping low-income households in Illinois reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint by transitioning from gas to energy-efficient electric appliances. It offers no-cost upgrades for homes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), replacing gas systems with modern electric technologies like induction cooktops, heat pump water heaters, heat pump dryers, air source heat pumps, and weatherization improvements. The program is part of ComEd’s broader effort to promote clean energy, reduce pollution, and improve air quality in underserved communities.

Whole Home Electric
Whole Home Electric is a comprehensive program that lowers your energy costs and usage by replacing gas-powered appliances and HVAC systems with high-efficiency electric alternatives—often at little to no cost to you.
LED Lighting
Upgrade your multifamily property with energy-efficient lighting and other improvements—at little to no cost. Through ComEd’s Multifamily Energy Savings Program, property owners can receive free LED lighting, smart thermostats, and more, with hassle-free installation and immediate savings on utility bills.
Weatherization
Improve tenant comfort and reduce energy waste—at no cost to you. If your building serves income-eligible residents, you may qualify for free insulation and air sealing upgrades through ComEd, Peoples Gas, and Nicor Gas. These building envelope improvements help lower utility bills, eliminate drafts, and extend the life of HVAC systems. All upgrades are fully funded by the utility providers, with no cost to the property owner.

Boiler Tune Ups
Boost your boiler’s performance with utility-backed rebates.
